There are many products on the market today to keep your home cool during the summer months – and choosing the product that best suits your needs can be a difficult decision to make. Comfortwave can help you make an informed choice when shopping for the right cooling unit.
There are two main types of air conditioning available on the market today; forced air cooling, and ductless cooling units.
1) Ductless Cooling Units
Ductless cooling units are typically designed for those homes without your traditional ductwork for those customers looking for some form of supplemental cooling. Whether you need a single zone or multi-zone system, interior units are then operated via a remote control. It is a common myth, that ductless air conditioner units cost a fortune over the summer months. If fact, they can be more cost efficient as an interior unit can be placed nearly anywhere in the home; and focus on certain areas that need cooling the most.
2) Forced Air Cooling Units
Forced air systems are the most common in the GTA and involve your traditional ductwork and furnace set up. An evaporator coil is placed above the ductwork atop the furnace, and as a condenser fan spins, air circulates the refrigerant through the evaporator coil, the furnace forces air across the coil at a very high speed. As a result - cool air is generated.
